PayForMed pays medical bills at registered healthcare facilities in Nigeria. Every donation is tied to a specific bill at a specific facility, and funds are paid to that facility rather than to any individual. This policy explains when a donation can be refunded.
PayForMed helps patients pay medical bills at healthcare facilities registered in Nigeria. Every donation is tied to a specific bill at a specific facility. Funds are paid to the facility that issued the bill. No money is paid to a patient, a campaign creator, or any other individual.
This policy explains when a donation can be refunded, and when it cannot.
You can request a refund of your donation at any time while the campaign you gave to is still open. We refund to the card or account you paid with, in the currency you paid in. If you paid in US dollars, we refund at the same exchange rate you were charged.
The platform fee is not refundable. It covers the cost of processing your payment and verifying the campaign.
A campaign closes when it reaches its goal, or 90 days after it was published, whichever comes first. When a campaign closes, the money raised is released to the facility and applied to the patient's bill. Donations cannot be refunded after a campaign closes.
If a campaign closes without reaching its goal, the amount raised still goes to the facility as part payment of the patient's bill. Part payment reduces what the patient owes, which in practice helps them more than returning small amounts to each donor.
Fraud. If we find that a campaign was fraudulent, every donor receives a full refund, including the platform fee.
Funds that cannot be used. If the facility confirms that the money raised cannot be applied to the patient's bill, we refund donors their donations. The platform fee is not refunded in this case.
Payments made directly to an invoice issued by a facility are applied to that bill immediately and are not refundable, except in cases of error or fraud.
Email [email protected] with the campaign name, the name and email address used for the donation, and the date of the donation.
We aim to respond within 2 business days. Once a refund is approved, it usually appears on your statement within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
If something looks wrong, please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank, so we can resolve it quickly. If a dispute is raised, we will share the details of your donation and of this policy with the card issuer.
PayForMed is not a registered charity. Donations made through PayForMed are not tax-deductible.
