We are dedicated to providing access to quality healthcare across Africa. Our team is made up of passionate, dedicated individuals with a genuine concern about the current state of healthcare across the continent.
We believe that every African should have access to affordable and quality healthcare, regardless of their socio-economic status. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the healthcare haves and have-nots in and across Africa by providing access to all forms of affordable and quality healthcare services.

At Pay for Med, we know that too many Africans face financial barriers to quality medical care. We make it easier to raise the funds needed for life-saving treatment: patients create a campaign to share their story and receive donations from friends, family, and the wider community. Every campaign is verified by our team before it goes live.
Our platform connects people who need help with medical bills to those who are willing and able to give. We know the healthcare system across Africa is far from perfect — from a shortage of workers to inadequate infrastructure and high costs — but we believe better access to funding can help close that gap.
Once a campaign is funded, the money goes directly to the patient's healthcare provider, never to an individual, so funds are used exactly as intended, with no extra fees and full peace of mind for donors. We're built on transparency, honesty, and accountability, because our success depends on real impact for the people we serve.

Chijioke Umeh
Founder & CEO
Senior mechanical engineer and product innovator with 8+ years building consumer hardware and spacecraft at The Walt Disney Company, NASA JPL, and Boeing (Starliner). A U.S. Air Force veteran, he leads PayForMed's mission to make paying for healthcare reliable across Africa.
Chigozie Duru
COO
A fintech product and operations leader — Senior Product Manager at Sterling Bank (Edubanc), with product roles at NowNow and Contec Global, plus an MBA and a computer-science background. He drives PayForMed's operations, product, and healthcare-facility partnerships.
Amy Weston
CTO
A computer scientist in the Honors College at Virginia Tech and AI/ML Fellow at Cornell Tech, Amy is passionate about developing creative solutions through technology to make an impact and contribute to making tech and resources more accessible. She has industry experience in software engineering and has contributed to award-winning hackathon projects, including the 1st-place overall project at VTHacks 13, where she helped make reading more accessible for visually impaired children. She leads engineering and product at PayForMed.
